A time I would have avoided otherwise to visit the valley, I found myself in Srinagar, Kashmir, around the time when winter was departing with its last of snows. It was a final trip to meet a very dear friend. The lakes, Nagin/Nigeen and Dal, offered to me shades of grey I had never witnessed before. A very different mood, when the valley was preparing to bid goodbye to the cold in the month of March.

It was an experience so different with both the lakes before the gloom could be lifted with spring sunshine
