Nagin: The other lake in Srinagar, Kashmir

Nagin Lake, located at the foothills of Mount Zabarwan in Srinagar, Kashmir, is a sub-lake of Dal Lake. It stands west to Dal and resides close to Hazratbal Mosque and Kashmir University. Nagin is distinctive with its placid waters and solitary mood, unlike Dal. Distant from the hustle and bustle of the city, it serves you perfectly well. You can take a Shikara ride in the lake and enjoy the serene view with perfect reflections of Chinar trees while rowing through water lilies along with Little Grebes and Ducks.

The most famous houseboat in Nagin Lake is the Butterfly Houseboat. However, lesser expensive houseboats, such as Rolling Stone Houseboat, are also available. Rolling Stone's tariff for 1 night stay (breakfast and dinner included) single bedroom is INR 1,000/- and for double bedroom is INR 2,000/-. Nagin beckons those who are imaginative and gives a perfect setting for conversation with nature in the lap of Himalayas.
